11 Ways to Naturally Improve Your Mood

October 23, 2019 by Frun Leave a Comment

Moody today?

Feel like ripping someones head off?

You could have the Wintertime Blues…

Without further ado…

How to Improve Your Mood (Naturally)

1.) Eat The Natural Human Diet

Quit eating slop. How will you ever feel / perform your best if you’re constantly stuffing chips and fast food down your throat?

You know what feels better than sugar-infested apple cider and donuts? Rock hard abs.

Grains and wheat products should be avoided at all costs. It’s cattle food.

There’s a reason livestock are fed grains: it fattens them up for slaughtering. I’m sure nobody wants to be fattened up; or slaughtered.

Meat is the center-stone of a healthy, vibrant humans diet.

Eat your eggs, beef, lamb, fish and poultry. I’d say pork too but most pork is garbage unless you can find a quality source.

Eating zero carbs like in the Steak & Eggs Diet isn’t easy but it is well worth it and you owe it to yourself at least once in your lifetime.

You will never understand how sick you are until you are healthy.

This isn’t to say you can’t cheat every once in a while.

I will enjoy a cheat meal once every week or two. Even that, I’m starting to regret since I always feel like shit afterwards.

2.) Turn Off The TV

I personally do not enjoy movies or TV at all. It is garbage and a complete and utter waste of time.

I gave up watching TV and movies around 4-5 years ago.

Maybe once a year I’ll be forced to go with the family for a night out but thats about it.

Television is not designed to fulfill you.

It is designed to entertain you.

You will constantly have to consume more ‘entertainment’ to fulfill a void that cannot be fulfilled.

Quit watching TV and instead…

3.) Hit The Gym

Staying clean, lean and mean will reward you in many ways.

Hitting the gym should be a part of everyones routine.

If you are physically out of shape, I would suggest you fix your diet first and then pursue exercise.

Remember this: YOU CAN NOT OUT-WORK A BAD DIET.

If you’re going to do something, do it right. Start with the basic building blocks (diet) and then venture into whatever you like.

4.) Get Off Of Social Media

Everyone I know that is hopelessly addicted to social media are out of touch with reality and unhappy as a result.

Social media is destroying our society. It can be utilized positively but very few do so.

Most of the time, it is a waste of time.

If you want to socialize…

5.) Be Around / Meet New People

Humans are social beings. We need to be around people even if you are more ‘introverted’ or a ‘homebody’ like me.

Get out in the world and meet new people.

You never know who you will meet and how it may change your life.

6.) Stop Lying To Yourself

Lying is one of the worst habits to have. It starts small and if you let it, it will consume your entire life.

Ever meet a compulsive liar?

Nobody likes them.

Same goes for you. STOP LYING TO YOURSELF.

The more you lie to yourself, the more your life will suck and spiral out of control.

Take responsibility, start seeing your life for the way it is and fix it if you aren’t happy with it.

7.) Stop Listening To Shitty Music

What you put in your mind will eventually manifest itself in your actions.

Be cautious of the music you listen to.

This might sound ridiculous, but until you’ve abstained from it, you wouldn’t understand.

Most music nowadays is garbage and promotes degenerate behavior.

Music is a dopamine producing agent.

Constantly listening to it will desensitize you to the effects of dopamine over time.

Keep your brains reward system in check and reap the benefits.

8.) Make Your Own Rules & Pave Your Own Path

This is not to say be crazy, commit crime and go missing.

In the insane world we live in, the sane thing to do would be to go your own way.

Create your own plans, rules and paths.

If you let someone else choose your future for you, you will become a part of someone else’s world and not be in control of yours.

I don’t know about you, but that would make me a very unhappy person.

Instead, Control Your Own Destiny!

9.) Don’t Accumulate Debt

Debt will make you its bitch and turn you into a slave.

Especially student loans; the indentured servitude of the 21st century.

If you can’t afford to buy something, don’t buy it!

I see this left and right.

People complaining about debt and the next day they go out and buy the newest iPhone or designer clothing.

Have some self control and set some priorities.

You will never improve your mood if you are in debt.

It hangs over you like a dark cloud.

10.) Get Quality Sleep

Insomnia is not fun and I’ve struggled with it for years myself.

If you’re not getting quality sleep, the next day you just feel like garbage regardless if you get your 8 hours of shut eye or not.

When I say quality sleep, I mean REM sleep.

A big issue nowadays are our phones. They emit blue light which signals to our brain to suppress melatonin production.

I suggest abstaining from your devices an hour or more before bedtime.

The younger you are, the more sensitive you will be to the effects of blue light.

I talk about sleep and improving brain function more in-depth in this post.

11.) Have A Purpose In Life

A meaningless life will never lead to happiness.

If you can’t find meaning, that just means you haven’t explored enough yet.

Do some exploring, find out what you like and what you don’t like and run with it!

I don’t like to do things that have no purpose anymore.

Hanging out with friends and watching movies are a complete waste of time.

You have to have some fun; but nobody seems to value moderation nowadays.

I have a goal of self-betterment. I want to ascend, not descend.

If something has no promise to help me mentally, physically or financially; I refuse to waste my time with it.

Until Next Time,

Frun
