Motivation is a tricky topic.
Different things make us tick.
The ultimate key is to find what makes you tick.
There are things you can do to stay motivated though.
1.) Have a Goal in Life
What are you working towards?
If you are hopelessly going through the motions living life day-by-day, of course it will be hard to stay motivated.
If what you do everyday serves you no purpose, ditch it.
Set goals for yourself and keep moving forward.
Goals can be:
- A change you want to make to your body.
- A difference you want to make in the world.
- A business you’ve been wanting to start.
As long as it’s something that matters to you.
It doesn’t have to mean anything to anyone else.
Just get up and after it.
2.) Look Clean & Presentable
Dress for success.
If you don’t look the part, you will never be the part.
When you start envisioning yourself as someone successful, you will slowly and surely change your behavior to be successful.
It all starts in the mind.
- Get a clean haircut.
- Shave your dirty scruff.
- Dress like you’re someone important.
People will naturally respect a well-dressed and groomed person.
Appearance is everything not only to others, but yourself as well.
How you see yourself is what you will become.
3.) Find Inspiration
Finding inspiration is hard these days.
Most work is the exact opposite of inspirational.
It degenerates you and makes you weak.
Don’t poison your mind with ‘conventional’ inspiration.
To find inspiration, the best place to look is in the past.
My absolute favorite piece of inspiration was Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
You won’t be disappointed.
Another book I highly recommend is the 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris.
I recommend this because it will open your eyes to what is possible.
Once you see what is possible, I don’t believe you’ll be the same.
This book will get your creative juices flowing.
Another effective way to find inspiration is to find a mentor.
Unfortunately, these people can be far and few in between.
Fortunately, you have the internet and can contact anyone nowadays.
4.) Fix Your Mindset
If you think like a broke person, you will never be rich.
If you think like an employee, you will never be an entrepreneur.
If you think like a loser, you will never be a winner.
What most fail to realize is that it all starts in the mind.
Like Ghadhi said:
“Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits.”
What do all winners have in common?
They have winning habits.
Excellence is a habit.
We are what we repeatedly do.
- If you repeatedly eat toxic food, you will become toxic.
- If you repeatedly skip the gym, you will become weaker.
- If you repeatedly abuse drugs, you will become an addict.
On the other side of the same coin:
- If you repeatedly eat healthy food, you will become invigorated.
- If you repeatedly go to the gym, you will become strong.
- If you repeatedly read books, you will become smart.
Start with the right thoughts and allow your thoughts to manifest into your actions.
5.) Use Supplements & Nootropics
What are nootropics you ask?
Nootropics are drugs / supplements that:
- Heighten cognitive functioning
- Improve memory
- Increase creativity
- Ramp up your motivation
An awesome nootropic stack that I will use on occasion is Caffeine + L-Theanine.
The caffeine will get you going. (Obviously)
Though, the L-Theanine takes the jitters away.
This leaves you with a synergistic clear and focused effect.
Use these substances as tools to achieve things that need to get done.
Of course, use them sparingly.
You do not want to become dependent on taking a substance to perform at your best.
You should always strive to Improve Your Brain Function.
There are a few other effective nootropics out there…
Maybe we’ll save those for another article.
6.) Take Back Your Health
It’s hard to stay motivated when you aren’t healthy.
When you aren’t healthy, you feel like shit all the time.
- You have no energy.
- You always want to nap.
- You keep procrastinating.
This is why I’m such a big advocate for the ketogenic diet. (Like the Steak & Eggs Diet)
Try it out and let me know what you think.
On this diet, your problem won’t be having no energy…
It will be: What do I do with all this energy?
The newfound energy from this diet will force you to put your energy into SOMETHING.
7.) Utilize Intermittent Fasting
Fasting is one of my favorite things to do when I have a long day of work.
It keeps me energized and vigorous throughout the day.
There’s a good reason for this too.
Fasting does something special to your body.
It’s called a counter regulatory hormone response.
When you fast extended periods of time, epinephrine (Adrenaline) begins to be secreted.
Adrenaline will make it impossible for you to not do something.
It’s the ultimate and 100% natural stimulant.
This is why the One Meal a Day Diet is superior.
The energy from fasting is ridiculous…
That’s an understatement.
Stay motivated my friends.
Until Next Time,
