There’s a reason why most people will never get out of the ruts they are stuck in.
Ask someone about their future and it starts off with:
“Well, one day I hope…”
One day I hope I get that job…
One day I hope I get that girl…
One day I hope I can afford that car…
Let me tell you something: HOPE IS A DELUSION.
A little story to explain: I recently had an interesting experience at a casino.
I was playing blackjack to start. I bet $50 my first hand and won. Then, $50 the second time and won again.
Eventually, I went to another blackjack table and ended up losing everything I made. I was down around $100.
I decided to buy into a poker table with $300 in hopes that I could recoup what I lost.
My first hand I had a three of a kind with Jacks. I bet $50. Next card flips, I bet another $100.
This is great I thought, I had such a strong hand. There’s not a chance in hell I could lose!
There was just one guy left, calling all my bets…
The last card flips and it’s a 5. My opponent puts me all in and I call.
I revealed my three of a kind and he also had a jack; but he also had a 5… He had a full house and just like that I lost $300.
I’m not going to lie, the $400 I lost that night at the casino could’ve went to a lot more valuable things; like my savings, investments or even education.
I would’ve rather GAVE that money to a stranger than to a casino.
Though, that $400 loss taught me a valuable lesson that night.
From now on, I don’t play any game unless I know I am going to win.
How do you know you can win at something? Focus and build on your strengths.
Do not allow other people to control your future by bringing you into their realm.
When you play their games with their rules; you will always lose.
If you sit there ‘hoping’ for something good to come along, life will pass you by and forget about you.
Hope is something that reactive people exhibit. They just let life happen to them. Instead, be proactive; be in control of the outcomes you produce.
Your dreams, goals and future will be taken by someone else more capable and hungry for the opportunity if you are not proactive.
So stop being reactive. Stop letting life happen to you. Stop hoping for shit, just get out there and get it.
QUIT BEING A LOSER AND START WINNING BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
Until Next Time,
