There is a lot of fear in this world.
Fear of:
- Getting sick.
- Not making money.
- Disappointing your parents.
- Not living up to your expectations.
Fear eats away at you like a crow eats away at a dead corpse.
Fear will drain you.
Fear will cripple you.
Fear will hold you back.
People will instill fear into you to control you.
Do you like to be controlled?
If not, you need to learn how to be fearless.
So, how do we become fearless?
1.) Understand That The Only Thing To Fear Is Fear Itself
Fear exists only in the mind.
We create it.
It is a manmade construct.
Like any emotion, you can either control fear or let it control you.
To control fear, we have to internalize this.
Like Winston Churchill said:
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
Take control of your emotions, don’t let them control you.
You need to Learn to be Tough in a Cruel World.
2.) Keep Your Eyes On The Prize
When you have a goal you want to achieve, keep your eyes on the prize.
Don’t think about all the obstacles you have to overcome.
There will always be obstacles.
Just like the honey badger, it knows there are obstacles and repercussions.
Does the honey badger care though?
No, it doesn’t give a fuck.
The only thing the honey badger is concerned with is the prize: food.
Only think about what you will end up with.
What you end up with is worth far more than what you had to go through to get it.
If what you’re after is important enough, you will do whatever it takes regardless of fear.
If you’re not willing to do whatever it takes, maybe your goals aren’t important enough to you.
3.) Not All Fear Is Created Equal
There is a caveat about fear and that is:
Not all fear is bad.
In fact, it keeps us in check sometimes.
It keeps us from making blunders.
Other times, fear holds us back.
When fear holds you back, you will have overcome it and become fearless.
Instead of thinking:
“What if I’m not smart enough?”
Think:
“What knowledge do I have to acquire to accomplish this?”
Instead of thinking:
“What if I can’t do it?”
Think:
“How can I figure out a way to do it?”
Have the mindset of a go-getter.
Be proactive and change the way you think to overcome fear.
It’s all a balancing act and part of Why You Should Be A Chameleon.
No matter what happens, be confident and assure yourself that you will find your way.
Until Next Time,
Frun
