The One Meal A Day Diet

January 26, 2020 by Frun Leave a Comment

Hey, I have a secret to share with you…

You don’t need to eat 3 times a day and snack between each meal to be healthy.

Actually, eating all the time isn’t natural to our bodies.

Eating one meal a day would be more natural to us.

The reason most people are hungry all the time is because they eat carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates are only good for three things:

  1. Making you constantly hungry.
  2. Creating cravings.
  3. Deteriorating your body.

Carbohydrates do not satisfy your hunger whatsoever.

All carbohydrates do is bloat you and make you feel full.

I’m sure you all have an experience where you ate until your stomach was about to explode…

… and still wanted that carrot cake for dessert.

This was because your were eating empty calories.

When you eat things like saturated fat from butter, steak and eggs (Like in the Steak & Eggs Diet), you actually end up satisfying your hunger.

It’s impossible to overeat due to the hormonal response created by eating fat.

Don’t believe me?

Try eating a pound of some fatty ground lamb or a dozen eggs and let me know how far you get.

I hear this all the time:

“I can’t seem to lose weight!”

“I exercise everyday and still can’t drop the pounds!”

Everyone trying to lose weight thinks or complains like this. If you are not losing the weight you intend to; something you are doing is not working.

I find that 99% of the time, the thing they are missing is diet related. It concerns what you eat and when you eat.

It’s easily overlooked. What and when you eat is a major keystone in how you look and feel.

People think that they can eat whenever they please and be healthy; giving in to the 3 meals a day + snacking propaganda.

People also think that they can eat whatever they please and the exercise will cancel the shit calories they consume.

Wrong.

You are what you eat.

If you eat shit, you will become shit.

You should aim to eat as naturally as possible.

Something that people overlook is not only the quality of your meals but the timing of those meals.

This is how the magic of the one meal a day diet works.

The One Meal A Day Diet (OMAD)

The OMAD diet works its magic by helping you burn body fat. (Duh, obviously)

The simple explanation for this would be that when you stop eating; your body turns to body fat to burn for energy.

The complicated explanation is that your insulin goes down so hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) goes up.

HSL is the hormone responsible for fat burning. (Also known as lipolysis)

This is exactly what we want.

I’ve used OMAD in the past in combination with the Steak & Eggs Diet and the fat melted off my body.

This put me into a deep state of nutritional ketosis. (What is ketosis you ask?)

Everyday felt like the best day of my life.

It gave me a constant natural high. High on life. The natural state of mind.

The first time trying OMAD I was not expecting to encounter bliss. It was a pleasant positive to this WOE. (Way of eating)

With your one meal a day, you should aim to eat until satiety. Basically, until you’re full.

Whether it’s 1,600 calories or 2,400 calories doesn’t matter.

Also, there are more awesome benefits to this way of eating; not just losing fat.

If you have never tried it before, I recommend you try it out to see what I’m talking about!

A few of the benefits are:

  • Your body depletes its glycogen stores.
  • Insulin levels goes down.
  • Boosts brain function.
  • Hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) goes up.
  • Insulin sensitivity is increased.
  • Increased lipolysis. (Fat burning)
  • Kickstarts autophagy. (Cellular cleanup)
  • Promotes detoxification.
  • Increases metabolism.
  • Improves your immune system.
  • More energy.
  • You get the point.

On important days like test days or days I have lots of work to do, I will usually fast for 16 to 20 hours.

This keeps my mind sharp, my energy explosive and my body healthy.

An important thing to note is that if you have never done OMAD before; you will have to conjure up some willpower to do it.

Your body will have to adjust to the new eating schedule and deal with not having a constant influx of calories. (It will take a few days to adapt depending on your previous diet)

However, if you want to improve your brain function, physical performance, and how you feel on a day-to-day basis, OMAD is 100% the way to go.

I know you will be happy with how well it works.

Try it out for a few weeks and let me know how it goes!

Until Next Time,

Frun

P.S. Don’t know what to eat for your one meal a day?

Let me offer you some suggestions…

Cooked Tomahawk Steak
Salmon & Scruffy
Lamb With Celtic Sea Salt

Hope I didn’t make you too hungry 😂
