Hope this post finds everyone well! It’s time for part 5!
If you haven’t read my other posts leading up to this one, I suggest you do that first!
Here are the 5 posts should you need to navigate them:
1.) My Endeavor For Health: The Backstory
2.) What I Found Out About My Genetics
3.) Supplementing Bioavailable Forms Of Vitamins, Electrolytes & Minerals
4.) My Experimentation With Diets
5.) Maintaining My Physical & Mental Health (You’re reading this one)
As you might have assumed, maintaining your health is easy once you’re healthy. You absolutely need to set aside time for yourself though. It is 100% worth it.
I do a variety of things to maintain my health but one of the most important things you will have to learn to develop is to FEEL what your body is asking for.
Supplementation
Feeling what your body needs is especially true when it comes to supplements.
For instance, sometimes when I feel somewhat restless, I supplement Magnesium Glycinate before bed and I have a great nights sleep.
Other times, I have a craving for salt, so I make bone broth or eat something salty.
It’s quite simple.
But most people have lost the ability to listen to their bodies.
Dopamine Fasting
Dopamine fasting is a new concept I came across. It really helps hone in and focus on what’s actually important in your life.
Dopamine fasting is essentially withdrawing from pleasurable activities. (Music, sex, social media, etc.)
All these things desensitize your dopamines effectiveness.
Once you cut out the distractions, you start finding pleasure in things you otherwise wouldn’t. (Work, business and self improvement)
It isn’t the easiest thing to do but the bliss of it is quite amazing and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
Diet
Obviously, diet needs to be maintained. I eat a zero carbohydrate diet and most days I will intermittently fast. (Usually 16 hours fasting and an 8 hour eating window)
This keeps your body in health and more importantly it keeps your mind sharp!
Without diet, you might as well throw everything else out the window. Diet is the biggest factor when it comes to your wellness SO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT.
Working Out
Exercise is another thing that I do regularly to maintain my health. I could go on and on about the benefits but I’m sure it is self-explanatory.
If you aren’t working out, what are you doing?
Get your ass up and get in the gym.
Massages
I like massages since they really calm the nerves and get out all the muscle kinks from physical activity.
I go once a month and I always come out feeling refreshed.
You could probably go without having massages but they will only help you so why not?
I hope everyone enjoyed my 5 part story figuring out my health! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Until Next Time,
Frun
