Let the first blog post be written! This is going to be a more simple (but still valuable) post as I get used to posting and eventually build into more complicated subjects. It is essential to understand the fundamentals.
Let’s dive right in to the 2 Main Reasons Why You Can’t Lose Weight.
1.) Your Hormones Are Not Optimal
Of course, plenty of things can influence this. The #1 issue with most people is DIET.
Insulin is the fat storage hormone. You stimulate your insulin by eating foods that spike your blood sugar. This is especially true with high glycemic index foods such as grains.
If you are constantly eating carbohydrates / sugars throughout the day in small chunks; your insulin will ALWAYS remain high and you will constantly be storing fat.
This is why eating protein and fat helps you LOSE WEIGHT. Protein and fat do not stimulate insulin nearly as much as carbohydrates and sugars do.
This is the whole premise behind the ketogenic diet and carnivore diet. They optimize your insulin and help you become fat adapted by using fat for energy. (More on this later)
To sum it up, high insulin = constant storing of fat. So, if you have excess fat on your body, get your insulin down!
2.) You Aren’t Exercising
This can be subjective depending on your weight. Obviously, exercise is good for weight loss but for people who are severely overweight; I believe they should optimize their diet first and then move onto exercise once they feel more able.
Everything is 10x harder when you are unhealthy. Health and weight loss STARTS with diet. This is why you see some people at the gym 24/7 and they STILL can not drop their weight.
As for exercises, I personally love fasted cardio. It increases your fat oxidation rate; burning more fat in less time. Fasted cardio is also great because of the runners high your get and other awesome benefits that I will explain in a later post.
However, it has been my personal experience that the best way to lose fat is to GAIN MUSCLE. So hit the weights, hit them heavy and keep your heart rate up with short rests between sets. (Less than 30 seconds)
That just about sums up this post! I know 2 reasons does not seem like a lot but once we dive into the details; you will see that it has everything to do with weight loss. If I had to give percentages; weight loss is 90% diet and 10% exercise.
Stay with me and you will soon learn the secrets that have been seemingly hidden from us about our health.
Until Next Time,
