One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that us humans are weird.
For example, you reading this blog post when you know you have a million other things to do.
We tend to put off the things that we need to do and even distract ourselves from the tasks we have at hand.
I’m sure everyone has been guilty of this; myself included.
Everyone seems to wait for ‘the perfect time’ to do that thing they’ve been meaning to do:
- Starting a business.
- Changing your diet.
- Getting in the gym.
Why do we do this to ourselves? I couldn’t tell you…
Most people would say it is due to bad work ethic, being undisciplined or simply not wanting it bad enough.
Then you have the psychologists that believe it is trauma from our childhood or simply fears that hold us back.
I think there is a little truth in all these ideas.
- Sometimes, you are just too burnt out to accomplish anything.
- Occasionally, you are fearful to do something.
- Other times, you’re picking up bad habit after bad habit.
Though, here’s the ‘thing’…
No one actually knows what it is like to be YOU.
You are a unique being, with unique thinking patterns and a unique set of behaviors.
Nobody will ever be exactly like you. Past, present or future.
No one can actually relate to you because nobody can ever be you!
Everyone is different in their own way. Different lives, aspirations and problems.
Speaking of problems:
We all have problems, but no one will be able to solve them but you.
While others can help you come to a conclusion, it is ultimately you and your actions that will forge your future.
- What new skill(s) do you need to learn to progress?
- What is the first step in accomplishing what you need to accomplish?
- Set a goal for yourself, even if it’s small; it will get you closer to where you need / want to be.
The fact of the matter is that nobody is going to shove you to get crackin’ on your dreams.
And obviously, nobody will do the work for you. Only you can.
Everything is on you.
The question is not:
“When’s the right time?”
The real question is:
“What are you waiting for?”
The reality is… there is no perfect time to do anything.
You just need to start doing it.
Until Next Time,
Frun
