I can’t help but laugh when people tell me…
“I just want to be happy.”
Not because I don’t want them to be happy but because happiness does not come without sadness.
The same way courage could not exist if there was not an instance of fear; happiness cannot exist without sadness.
Without sadness, happiness would have no value to you.
It is akin to drawing a picture. If you use a white ink on white paper, you have nothing. If you use black ink on black paper, you have nothing.
Then, by using black ink on white paper, the CONTRAST creates an image.
In a similar way, you will live your life creating contrast. Comparing and contrasting the things that make you happy, what you enjoy doing and how you want to live your life. It builds your character.
No matter what you do to avoid sadness, you cannot escape the nature of life. Your best option would be to embrace your sadness and use it as fuel to move forward on the path you are taking.
The path will be sad, it will be demeaning and it will want to make you give up.
This is what makes life so exciting. After all, it would be no fun without a little challenge.
Until Next Time,
